We will never provide any specific or personally identifying information about an individual in any of these reports.
  4. We value your time - Registration should be easy and painless and access to, and the enjoyment of, the Nelvana.com web site, we feel is valuable in return.
NELVANA'S PRIVACY POLICY:

Some of the program web sites found under Nelvana.com, such as www.clowbook.com, www.medabots.com, www.ferociousbeast.com, www.franklintheturtle.com , and others, offer a membership registration option. Nelvana is committed to protecting your privacy and safety online. Nelvana encourages you, the parent, to check and monitor your child's online activities. Make sure your child knows to ask you or their guardian before giving any personal information to any web site.

We have created this policy to explain why we ask for certain information when your child becomes a member, the types of information we gather, how it is used and how you or your child can change or delete the information.

Nelvana limits the collection of personal information from kids. For example, Nelvana does NOT ask for your child's full name or phone number. Nelvana will not intentionally post, sell, rent or disclose any personal information to any third parties.

WHY DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION?

At Nelvana we have created lots of fun activities that do not require you to provide any personal information at all. But by becoming a member of Nelvana.com and providing basic information to us, this will help us make Nelvana on-line an environment which your child will want to return to by making it better with great activities and projects for kids. As a member, your child will receive our online newsletter with the latest news and activities; personalized birthday cards from your child's favorite characters; and, he or she can enter our online contests. If your child wins a prize in a contest, declarations and releases must be signed by a parent or guardian of the winner prior to Nelvana awarding or releasing the prize. Nelvana will never require kids to provide any more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in these activities.

HOW WE COLLECT AND USE INFORMATION:

1. Kids Registration Information - We ask for the following information when your child joins:

These things are required:
  • Screen name and password that you make up specifically for the site
  • A parent's email address
  • The country where you live
  • Your child's birth date and gender
The following is optional:
  • Your child's email address

We ask for a parent or guardian's email address in keeping with our privacy policy. This allows us to let you, the adult, know when your child has joined Nelvana.com, to tell you about our privacy policy, and of the activities at our site for example, if your child has entered a contest. Your child's email address is not required, but if you or your child requests our customized email news - that includes updates about activities and features, and a special message to your child on their birthday - and your child's email address is provided, we can send it directly to your child. Otherwise, if you request only the newsletter, without providing your child's email address we'll send it directly to your email address. If you (or your child) no longer wish to receive these messages, you can easily unsubscribe. Also, in keeping with Nelvana's belief in fostering family decisions about Internet use, members and parents may modify, review or delete information at anytime.
